IAA Connect Dhanbad: First-Ever Cadaveric-Based Teaching Program

IAA Connect marked a significant milestone in Dhanbad with the first-ever cadaveric-based teaching program, setting new standards in academic excellence and hands-on learning. The program was expertly conducted by Dr. Bhushan, Dr. Asish, Dr. Nikhil, Dr. Sanjay Bose, Dr. Avinash, and Dr. Vikas, whose dedication and effort far exceeded expectations.
The IAA fraternity extends heartfelt gratitude to Team Dhanbad for their exceptional organization and commitment. Though we missed our dear friend Vijay, the spirit of collaboration, learning, and gratitude made this event truly memorable and impactful for all IAA members.

Traumaplasty 1.0 Kolkata — A Landmark Orthopaedic Conference

Traumaplasty 1.0 held at Kolkata.
Organised by WBAS on behalf of IAA and WBOA.
It was a first of its kind. When i decided to hold this conference i was sceptical about the response from Orthopaedic surgeons. Have to admit we were expecting 120 surgeons but had to close registration at 170. Even after that due to heavy demand we eneded up with 208.
I wish to thank Dr Ramesh Sen who has always been a pillar of support and it was his idea orginally. I also wish to thank our national faculties, John, Avatar , Ashok Raju Gottemukkala, Sameer Aggarwal , Lokesh Av , Praveen, M Haseeb Gani , kartik patel, Sujit Kumar Tripathy , Ajith kumar, Krishna kiran, Joyce Kho from singapore, Nikhil shah from UK,Thanks to all members of WBAS for coming out and supporting the scientific deliberations, but heartful thanks to Dr Kunal, Dr Ajay, Dr Niloy
Dr Manoj Khemani and Dr Sutanu hazra.
Special thanks also to Rajeev Raman and Sunit Hazra for representing IOA and Dr GG kar to represent WBOA.
Overall a very memorable confetence.

BONE BANK

Bone Bank

Finally the day Arrived. Launch of bone bank at CMRI hospital. Presided by Health secretary WB Mr NS Nigam, Driector of health Service. DR swapan Soren, Director of Medical Education WB, Dr Indrajit Saha, Dr Aniruddha Neogi, Mr Friend and guide, Dr SM Ajoy (Ramaiah Medical College, Bengaluru) and out Unit Head Mr Sombrata Roy. Missed Rama Sanyal who single handedly did the leg work and made all this possible. Debarati, Rakhee and Piyashi deserve all the credit for the smooth function. The whole marketing team put their best foot forward. Thanks to the whole Ortho team who shared the same dream of launching the first govt approved and licensed bone bank in Eastern India

Primary to Revision Hip THR Instructional Course

Complex Primary to revision hip course at singapore academy. 28 delegates. Every one gained immensely from this. Mahesh, Anil, Arun and jagdeesh contributed to this course. We need more such course which are cadaver based. Delegates learned DAA, and revision techniques

Highlights from the 2nd PAC Meeting in Sri Lanka

Attended the 2nd PAC meeting in Sri Lanka as Chairman and truly enjoyed the enriching academic sessions. It was wonderful reconnecting with old friends and building new bonds. I was especially delighted to see so many young, bright surgeons emerging with great promise—they will surely make India proud. Looking forward to the next meeting, hopefully in Macau.

JOA Pelvic Conclave 2025

JOA Pelvic Conclave 2025, Ranchi, Landed straight from the AO pelvic course. Full day of academics. Was dead tired but seeing the enthusiasm of the young brigades we all gave our best With Dr Kale, Dr Atul, Dr Lokesh, Dr Pradeep Nemade, Dr Partha, Dr Samanta, Dr Gaurav, Dr Tushar Dr Arghya.

Thank you Organisers Rakesh, Manish, Abhinav and Nilay. This was secind such course and i Request Rakesh to make it an Annual one.
Only sore point . I missed out on the fun part.

AO Masters course

AO Masters course on Pelvi-acetabular trauma. High class teaching environment with foriegn masters like Ismail Dilogo( Indonesia), Zsolt Balogh(Australia) and Rahul Vaidya(Maker of Infix from Detroit( USA). Our very own master Dr Ramesh Sen held the whole course together. Next year it is in Indore. See you all there. So happy to to see Abhay, kasha, Nimesh, John, Gavaskar, P K Raju. But something was Amiss. Without Sameer the course is incomplete. Get well soon buddy. See u at the next course.

IAACON 2025 | Lucknow

Humbled and deeply honoured to have taken over as the President of the Indian Arthroplasty Association. It is both a privilege and a tremendous opportunity to serve this vibrant and dynamic organisation dedicated to advancing the science and art of arthroplasty.

IAACON 2025, Lucknow was an outstanding event — truly a delegate’s delight — featuring high-quality scientific sessions, debates, lectures, industry interactions, cadaveric workshops, live and relive surgeries, and insightful panel discussions.

My heartfelt thanks to Dr. Uttam Garg for his exceptional leadership and tireless efforts in making the conference a grand success, ably supported by Dr. Sandeep Kapoor.
Grateful to Dr. Sanjeev Jain, our outgoing President, for his guidance and contributions.
Warm wishes to President-Elect Dr. Manuj Wadhwa, First Vice-President Dr. Rajkumar, and Second Vice-President Dr. Vikash Kapoor as we continue this journey together.

EZOACON 2025

Heartfelt thanks to my Co-Chairman Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Organising Secretaries Dr. Anandan Mandal and Dr. P. S. Sarkar, Treasurer Dr. Santra, and Dr. Santanu Lahakar, the outgoing President of EZOA, for their exceptional efforts.
Special appreciation to Dr. Dinesh Jaiswal, Secretary East Zone, for his tireless dedication behind the scenes.

Congratulations to Dr. Shankarshan Mahapatra from Odisha on taking over as the new President of EZOA.
It was truly an honour to deliver the Past President’s Oration at this prestigious event.

Last but not least, sincere thanks to the Scientific Committee, led by Dr. Swarnendu Samanta and Dr. Sunit Hazra, for curating an excellent academic program.

8th JKOACON 2025

8th JKOACON 2025. Held this weekend in Srinagar. Apart from doing a live tkr surgery, gave talks, and helped with bone model hands on workshop. Was honoured to give Dr Farooq Ashai oration. This conference was held at Bone and Joint hospital, Bazulla.this hospital was the brainchild of dr Ashai and is the single largest standalone dept of Orthopaedics in our country with more than 300 beds and ultramodern operation theatres. Special thanks to dr Altaf Khawoosa, Dr Iftekhar, Dr Nasir, Dr Arshad, dr Asif, dr Adnan. Wonderful and close knitted team. The food was excellent and hospitality par excellence. A Memorable Conclusion to EZOACON 2024

As EZOACON 2024 comes to a close, it leaves us with fond memories of exceptional scientific content, a great ambiance, and delightful cuisine. This year was particularly special for me as the President of the East Zone Orthopaedic Association (EZOA).

I extend my warm congratulations to the new office bearers: Dr. Santanu Lahakar as President, Dr. Dinesh Jaiswal as Secretary, and Dr. Sabyasachi Santra as Treasurer.

A special thanks to Dr. Debata, Dr. Sahu, and the entire organizing team for their relentless efforts.
